What To Expect

Day One: Your journey begins by departing London and heading towards your first stop, Stonehenge; the most famous stone circle in the world. This monument is thought to be 4,500 years old, yet it’s meaning is still not truly understood. Next, you'll visit the medieval city of Salisbury; explore the magnificent Cathedral and see the Magna Carta, wander through the charming city centre and have lunch. This afternoon you’ll travel to Durdle Door; a spectacular limestone arch which is one of the most iconic features of the Jurassic Coast.

Day Two: This morning you'll negotiate country lanes and absorb beautiful scenery in Dartmoor National Park; known for its Sherlock Holmes connection, native wild ponies and infamous prison. You'll stop in at the charming town of Tavistock; birthplace of Sir Francis Drake, where you can try a traditional Devonshire Cream Tea. By this afternoon you're in Cornwall, and you'll visit the quaint community of Polperro; a fishing village where smuggling once prospered. Then it’s a short trip to the historic port of Charlestown; a main location in TV series Poldark.

Day Three: Today will take you to some of the most isolated parts of Cornwall's coastline. You'll start by visiting the iconic St Michaels Mount; an island that’s been home to a monastery since at least the 8th century. Next up is the Minack Theatre; a venue with a spectacular location that would rival any theatre in the world. From here, head to the mainland Britain's most western point; Lands End, and gaze out over the Atlantic. Then travel back to Falmouth, with time to explore Pendennis Castle and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.

Day Four: This morning your first stop is the popular seaside town, St Ives; an important fishing settlement and now a haven for artists, where you can stroll down cobbled lanes or along the harbour front. Next, meander to the charming village of Port Isaac; where hit TV series Doc Martin is filmed. Commonly known as 'Portwenn', you'll have time to see all the Doc Martin connected locations. Then, continue along the coast to Tintagel to explore an island that was once home to an ancient castle legend suggests is the birthplace of King Arthur.

Day Five: The final day begins by travelling to the beautiful city of Bath where you can visit the Roman Baths, the Jane Austen centre and see the famous Georgian architecture. After lunch you’ll head into the quintessentially English countryside of The Cotswolds; an area of outstanding natural beauty. The next stop is Castle Combe, possibly the most picture-perfect village in the region. Then, continue through rural scenery to Bibury; described by some as the prettiest village in England. Now its time to return to London, where your adventure concludes. Overnight locations: Exeter (1&4) and Falmouth (2-3).
